A Gift for a Bride To Be

Party Mode Part I and II  for my baby girl's 1st Birthday Party (in 5 weeks) has been successful! I decided to take a break this week from party planning and will continue next week with Part III.

This week one of my dear friends has been on my heart. I love my Maria so very much and she is getting married in 3 weeks! I am really excited to see this beautiful woman tie the knot with such a great guy! I know that she must excited too, because tomorrow marks her wedding month. I also know that every bride wants to be prepared as much as possible for the BIG day! I wanted to do all that I could to help my girl out. I decided to make her a "Bride Emergency Kit!" Before I started this project I came up with the name of kit, " Always a Bridesmaid but today A Bride Emergency Kit!" The Bride-to-be is a friend to MANY and has been a bridesmaid in PLENTY of weddings. It takes more than 2 hands to count all the weddings in which she has wore a bridesmaid dress. One of those weddings was mine!

Materials:
 Recycled Nordstroms Gift Box
Dollar Spot(Target) Card Making Kit
Two sided tape
Scissors

Below is what the emergency kit will provide for any OMG moments on the big day!

Got list of things from pinterest:
1. BAND-AIDS: Fix the ring bearer’s boo boo or a bridesmaid’s blister. 2. BREATH MINTS: Chewing gum doesn’t look good on anybody. 3. CLEAR NAIL POLISH: Stop that run in your stockings…or the MOB’s stockings, anyway. 4. BOBBY PINS: Dancing messes up your up-do. 5. TISSUES: Daddy’s little girl is getting married! 6. DEODORANT: Someone’s gonna need it. 7. WHITE NAIL POLISH: *If the bride has a french manicure. If not, pack their color. 8. LOTION: No ashy elbows or knees in those pictures, ladies! 9. ASPIRIN: It’s gonna be a looooong day. 10. COMPACT MIRROR: For quick touch-ups. 11. HAIR SPRAY: Can someone say, “Flyaways?” 12. ANTACID: See #9. 13. DRINKING STRAWS: Sip drinks without messing up your lipstick. 14. LINT ROLLER: The boys will probably need this…and not a single one of them will bring one. 15. SNACKS: For Heaven’s sake please don’t forget to eat! 16. EYE DROPS: See #12. 17. SAFETY PINS: Last-minute fix to any misbehaving outfits or boutonnieres! 18. STAIN REMOVER: If the worst should happen, BE READY. 19. WATER: Make sure everyone stays hydrated. It’s best for pics AND the next morning :) 20. STATIC GUARD: Especially with light fabrics like chiffon, this is a must! 21. SEWING KIT: Emergency button repair.

Last year I was in a wedding with my dear friend and I witnessed her wearing yet ANOTHER pretty bridesmaid dress. This year, this month, and in three weeks I will witness her wearing a beautiful white wedding gown and standing next to her handsome groom!

Celebrating my Sister

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Almost 2 years ago we thought there was a chance that we could loose my Sister. My sister was admitted to the ICU and placed on a breathing machine due to a bacterial infection called MRSA. After a week my sister was able to fight her way out of the ICU alive. Since then she has had to battle very bad health issues.
My sister turned 27 last week! We celebrated with a dinner-party,where family and friends came to celebrate her. At the end of the night she said " I especially had a good time because I went through this whole day without feeling sick".
My Sister going through so much physically and emotionally has changed me too. I am challenged even more to be thankful for good health, life, and especially my family.
Therefore, this Birthday Dinner was very special for me to share with my sister. It also gave me another reason to take plenty of pictures and dress up extra nice!!!!

What I Wore : Hat: Burlington
Black Glitter Shirt: NewYork & Company
Blue Guess Jeans and Grey Blazer: Marshalls
Black Boots: Target

Party Mode Part II: Birthday Banner

The second thing on my list for the party was a Birthday Banner. I wanted something full of the theme colors and full of my baby girl....

Tutorial:

Supplies:

1 pack of red plates
1 pack of black plates
1 pack of ribbon(this and all the above from the dollar store)
2 sided tape
Scissors
Hole puncher

12 months of pictures printed out in black and white from Costco

1. I hole punched 14 plates twice (on each side )evenly in the middle.

2. I connected each plate individually to another plate with the white ribbon and made a knot.

3. I curled each ribbon with the scissors.

4. I cut all the picture into an oval that would fit perfectly on the plates. I made sure there was picture of the Lil lady with her Daddy...

Her Mommy.....

And her Big Brother

5. I used the 2 sided tape to place the pictures on the plates, somewhat in chronological order.

6. I printed Happy Birthday signs out to place on each sides of the banner.

7. I tested out the finished project

I can't wait to see it with the rest of the decorations in 6 weeks, at my Lil Lady's party! Now onto the next project and I can't wait to share it with you next week!
