Surprise Pumpkin Carving

Mr. Wonderful had gone to pick the Boy up for school and the Girl was napping. The two had no idea what we had planned for them when one arrived home and the other woke up from napping!

We had told the kids we would carve pumpkins but never gave them a date and time.

We have learned once you do that they will ask and ask if its time until it is time!

It was so sweet when I told them  we had a surpise for them and opened the door to the backyard.

They ran for their pumpkin muffins, the family's favorite this time of year!

The pumpkin carving began. My husband was carving because I am still having hand and arm pain.

We had to stop for a minute because the Boy did not understand why Daddy was hurting the pumpkin with the knife. We explained to him that the pumpkin was not a person but thing put on earth for us to enjoy by eating and cutting!

The Girl treated the pumpkin like she treats everything else. She talked to the pumpkin,

she kissed the pumpkin, and called it cute over and over!

Then it was time for showtime a.k.a lights time.

We lit them up one by one and "ooh" & "awe" was repeated by the Boy and Girl!

Mr Wonderful and I was all smiles because our surpise turned out so well and we enjoyed it too!!!

The Patch

I love this time of the year!

One of the things I love most are all the pumpkins!

As soon as Fall hit I was looking for a good ole Pumpkin Patch.

A patch where there would be scarecrows,

a corn maze, a tractor ride,

and plenty of pumpkins!

I found it after a little research.

It was about 30 minutes from our house but so worth the ride.

My husband was skeptical as I gave him directions to this patch that was placed in a country part of town.

When we arrived we were both amazed with the kids.

It had all I wanted plus a "Barn Show" and a cute country store with great snacks that we partook.

I of course enjoyed capturing all this on my camera.

It was just a perfect time with my imperfect family.

I loved seeing my kids glow as they watched the "Barn Show",

got lost in the maze

picked out their pumpkin

and rode on the tractor!

Moments like these I tell myself I can't complain about anything because I realize how blessed I truly am!

A Birthday party for a Batman

My baby brother turned 24 last week! I still remember my Mom bringing him home from the hospital. Time has really gone by so fast!

My brothers sweet and lovely Girlfriend asked if she could throw a surprise Barbecue in our backyard a few weeks ago.

Mr. Wonderful and I were excited to be able to hold a last gathering in our backyard before it got too cold outside.

My Brother has had a love for Batman since he was a little guy!

His Girlfriend wanted the theme of the que to be Batman!

I helped her with decor a little and it looked great!

Since all the family cars were in the front of our house we surprised the birthday boy as he drove up!

He was very surprised and we were hungry from waiting for him to arrive!

The food was oh so good!

One of my favorite parts of family gatherings is prayer time. I always enjoy looking around and being mindful of the people God had blessed us with!

One of our family's favorite part of birthday parties is singing Happy Birthday!

We always sing the normal version of the Happy Birthday song and then we break into the Stevie Wonder version!!

My Baby Bro gave a sweet & grateful speech at the end of the party. I was so happy that he felt so blessed by his family & friends on his 24th Birthday!!!
